| When I am not running a marketing consulting business full-time, I have worked in senior marketing roles primarily for technology organizations.
As Executive Director of the Cloud Council of 7, I am working to build a new industry association that is helping to eliminate a lot of the confusion in the Cloud technology marketplace.
As Vice President of Marketing & Channel Programs at Cloud Silver Lining, an IT consultancy focused on helping enterprises realize the benefits of Cloud computing, I am responsible for working with business partners to establish marketing plans, delivering thought leadership content, and developing marketing messaging.
At EMC I marketed enterprise storage products and solutions with Cisco, Microsoft, and Oracle. Along with running product launches, a key initiative of mine was keep EMC at the forefront of "Green Data Center" activity by showcasing EMC's advantages through sales training and lead gen programs using podcasts, blogs, webcasts, online communities, and videos.
As Marketing Director at GlassHouse Technologies, I managed public relations and analyst relations, developed collateral, led product marketing of new services, and ran co-marketing initiatives with partners. I also overhauled the corporate website complete with new design, content, and search engine optimization, and reduced marcom costs by 50% by ensuring that all collateral could be downloaded electronically.
As Marketing Director at Iron Mountain, I developed a print/online advertising campaign that achieved a 900% gain in unique visitors to the web site along with a significant number of leads for sales. I led a team that created marketing campaigns, collateral, interactive sales tools, public relations initiatives, sales presentations, competitive analysis, e-mail marketing campaigns, and events marketing programs for the data protection and archiving SaaS offerings.
While at Dragon Systems (now a division of Nuance), I was responsible for the consumer and Internet products. Working with AOL, I developed innovative marketing programs that sold over one million units of Dragon's software in a year. Working with Intel, I created "Dragon NaturallyBrowsing", an entry-level product developed for the Intel Web Outfitter Service that moved 8,000 units in first six weeks of the promotion.
I am proud of my work at Lotus as part of the team that developed Freelance Graphics for multiple platforms and took Freelance Graphics for Windows from 19% market share to 30% market share in one year. I developed turn-key marketing programs for the field sales force and demonstrated software at executive briefings, seminars, trade shows, train-the-trainer sessions, and sales calls. One "out-of-the-box" marketing program that I ran was "Presentations on the Fly" which had Freelance Graphics demonstrated in USAir shuttle terminals and landed us on the front page of the Boston Globe business section.
